Brazilians traditionally strong at Military Judo World Championship

Yamil Rodríguez de Lima won the gold, and Leonie González from France took the silver.Countries participating in the championship include Colombia, France, Russia, South Africa, Chile, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Korea, Brazil, Belgium, Tunisia, Italy, Iran, Peru, Netherlands, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Palestine, and the host country, the Dominican Republic.The championship is supported by the Ministry of Defense, organized by the Sports Circle of the Armed Forces and National Police, and overseen by the International Military Sports Council. The event commenced on Monday, 24th, with the arrival of participating delegations. Official competitions began on Friday, 28th, at 2:00 PM at the mentioned Pavilion.In the U48kg category, Estefania Soriano won a bronze medal, with French athlete Laura Espadinha taking the gold and Lois Petit from Belgium securing the silver. Brazilian Amanda Ferreira de Lima also tied with Soriano for the bronze.French Gaetane Deberdt, Russian Valentina Ostapets, and Belgian Alessia Corrao won gold, silver, and bronze, respectively, in the 63kg category.
