Bryce Mitchell will not be participating in UFC 288, and instead, Diego Lopes will be taking his place to fight Movsar Evloev.


The cause of Mitchell’s departure has not been revealed.Evloev, who has an undefeated record of 16-0, has a new opponent after filling in as a replacement for Jonathan Pearce. He was supposed to fight Mitchell at UFC Vegas 64 in November, but had to withdraw due to an injury. Evloev, who was once the M-1 Global bantamweight champion, has been performing well in the UFC with six consecutive decision wins over opponents such as Dan Ige and Hakeem Dawodu.Bryce Mitchell will not be participating in UFC 288 on the upcoming Saturday.This report was contributed to by Mike Heck.Sources with knowledge of the situation have confirmed to MMA Fighting that Mitchell will no longer be competing in his scheduled featherweight bout against Movsar Evloev. Instead, Diego Lopes (20-5), who previously participated in the Dana White Contender Series, will be stepping in to fight Evloev on short notice. The news was initially reported by ESPN Deportes.In November, Lopes participated in a Lux Fight League competition and emerged victorious over Angel Rodriguez with a second-round TKO. This win marked Lopes’ ninth victory in his last 11 fights, which also includes a Contender Series appearance. However, during that particular event, Lopes lost to Joanderson Brito by unanimous decision.
